Makaweli - Waimea
Kauai
At Pakala, 8.6 beachfront acres extend from the shoreline to Kaumuali?i Highway on Kaua?i's west side. The 1912 residence sits well within the acreage, facing due west toward Ni?ihau. A long left known to surfers for generations breaks along the reef offshore. The sun sets directly ahead. Built for Sinclair and Ethel Robinson the year Sinclair became manager of Gay & Robinson, the single-level residence is approximately 5,000 square feet with four bedrooms and five baths. A caretaker's cottage, garage and storage are also on the property. A long approach runs through mature trees and palms before opening around the house. Broad lawn extends from a covered lanai to a low wall of stacked lava rock and the shoreline beyond. French doors open onto the lanai. Deep eaves, high ceilings, wide openings and interior pass-throughs carry the trades through the house. The property holds a TVR certificate for legal vacation rental use.
