I believe that the key to being great agent is to be able to relate with all your clients. With my diverse background I am able to connect with all kinds of people on many different levels, which allows me to be an effective agent and meet my clients needs.
I have my own personal team of professionals working along side me - YANOGROUP. The team business model helps ensure that I can provide the best possible service to my clients even while handling a large amount of business. This model has also given me the opportunity to spend more of my time focusing on my clients, getting to know their individual needs, negotiating on their behalf and working to help them achieve their investment goals.
The journey here has been a fascinating one, and my experiences have taught me invaluable lessons. Beginning in my early years, surfing and real estate investing were my main focus. I did very well on the pro tour, traveling around the world, meeting many different people and expanding my world view. Surfing has given me a competitive edge and a desire to excel in whatever I do and surpass expectations.
In 1992, I turned my knowledge of the surf industry into a career by becoming the sales representative of an upstart company that no one had heard of yet - Split Clothing, which went on to become one of the leading clothing companies in the surf, skate, snow and street-wear industries. In addition to Split, I helped birth Simple Shoes, Sessions Snow, and Globe Shoes. Business always came natural to me.
Wanting to expand my financial potential, I opened a clothing store of my own in 1998. Modern Amusement Co. proved to be a smashing success and provided me with essential insight into customer service and expectations. After 4 successful years, I was ready for a new challenge.
In 2002, after selling the clothing store, I re-entered the surfing circuit and joined the pro tour again. I did well in my contests, including those in Japan, Florida, New Jersey, Virginia Beach and the First Jewel of the Triple Crown at Haleiwa, Oahu. However, the time away from my family was very difficult for us so I decided to make a big change and combine my interest in real estate and my personal drive into a career in real estate sales. I have given my all to this career and serving my clients, and I have not regretted the choice since. It’s been a fantastic ride!
Within a matter of months after first joining Prudential Locations LLC (now Locations LLC), I became the highest producing agent amongst the new agents with less than two years of service. For my salesmanship, I received the ‘Rookie of the Year’ and the ‘Leading Edge’ awards. In 2004, I was recognized by the Honolulu Board of Realtors as an Outstanding Newcomer with their Aloha 'Aina award, and was also awarded ‘Salesperson of the Year’ at my company. Also in 2004, after less than 2 years of service with Prudential Locations, I was given the honor of reaching ‘Associate Partner’, making me the youngest partner, and also the quickest, to achieve a level of success that can sometimes take many years to reach. That same year, I was recognized with the ‘Outstanding Customer Service’ and ‘Chairman’s Circle’ awards.
Currently, I am in the top 1% of Realtors statewide. I am blessed to have closed over $150 million in sales since I started. I know that my success is a direct result of my commitment to my clients. As with every other goal that I have attained, I hold myself to the highest standard of excellence and commitment, while maintaining the spirit of youthful enthusiasm with which I conquered the waves.
The best part of my success is that I have been given opportunities to give back a portion of my earnings to charitable organizations which I wholly support. I donate 1% of my earnings to support Locations Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to contributing to programs like, Adopt A Teacher, Aloha United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, and The Sunshine Kids.
In 2006, I co-founded the Peter Miller Foundation in memory of one of my best friends. Throughout his life, Peter was committed to helping young kids who he saw had potential but were lacking the resources to pursue their goals on their own. I felt that his legacy needed to be continued and so through the Foundation I have held fundraisers and surf contests for children to promote Peter’s philosophy of encouraging kids to be active and focus on their futures.

They are the largest locally owned and operated company in Hawaii and are leaders of the marketplace.
