Ae'o will be Located Above the Largest Whole Foods in Hawaii
Ae’o, Howard Hughes’ affordable residential tower in Kakaako, will start sales this summer. The project will be Located above the old Nordstrom rack on the corner of Kamake’e and Queen Street behind Ward Theaters.
Ae’o has generated a lot of buzz over the past couple of weeks after Howard Hughes announced that residences will start in the low $400,000’s. Ae’o will feature a whopping 30 different floor plans with 65 studio units, 220 one-bedroom units, 125 two-bedroom units, and 56 spacious three-bedroom units. Historically, units with these affordable prices sell very, very fast.
The flagship Whole Foods Market will be the largest in the state at approximately 55,000 square feet. With no other grocery store planned for the area, Whole Foods will function as a hub for Ward Village and its residents. Walkability is a main selling feature of the Kakaako neighborhood, and with Whole Foods adding to the multitude of shopping and dining options, it will make an already bustling neighborhood even livelier.
Ae’o will have a modest offering of amenities compared to the pricier luxury projects in the area, but I assure you it will provide more than enough comfort without the high cost in maintenance fees.
