Over the last five decades, Gentry Homes has cemented themselves as an Oahu residential development mainstay, with their first project breaking ground in 1968. The name is most recognizable in the Central and West Oahu master plans of Waipio Gentry and Ewa by Gentry, providing thousands of new homes on Oahu between 1979 and the early 2000s.
With another decade of development under their belt, Gentry Homes is showing no signs of slowing down as they proudly announced their latest development, Kealii homes, a 66-home project consisting new Kapolei luxury homes situated on the 17th and 18th holes of the Kapolei Golf Course.
Kealii homes will be the third Gentry Homes development in the last five years, with the recent sales and construction of the SeaBridge and Coral Ridge projects currently under way in Ewa Beach. As the Kealii model homes suggest, Gentry's newest project will definitely be the most luxurious option of the three developments. Fifty-six of the Kealii homes for sale will feature direct golf course views and frontage (and if you've spent any time exploring Oahu's real estate market, you'll know that not having a neighbor within arm's reach on all four sides of the home is a luxury item, let alone the ability to look out onto acres of golf course greenbelts).
With the recent boom of Oahu new homes over the last decade in areas like Kakaako and Ala Moana, urban sprawl and congestion are of concern to some homebuyers, which is why we're seeing a trend of developers building new homes with walkability, self-sustainability and proximity to mass transit in mind.
Kealii homes will take these trends into account, offering homeowners premier access to one of three Honolulu Rail Stations within a 2-mile radius. The neighborhood will share the rail stations with the expansive Hoopili development by D.R. Horton Hawaii that sits just east of Kealii, on the other of side Kualakai Parkway.
Retail and dining opportunities can be found at Ka Makana Alii mall, which is a mere stone's throw away from the neighborhood and easily accessible by bike or short car ride. The white sand beaches and campgrounds of White Plains and Nimitz offer a host of outdoor weekend activities, and should you choose to stay at home, Kealii homes are equipped with covered lanais perfect for sunset BBQs. Lot sizes at Kealii are expected to average around 5,000 square feet, which is larger than the average Hoopili lot size, but on par with what you'd find in most Ewa and Kapolei neighborhoods.
Kealii home prices will land in the $900,000s for market-rate homes, but there will be eight homes offered under Honolulu Affordable Housing guidelines priced from the mid-$600,000s.
Similar to the sales releases of Seabridge, Coral Ridge and Hoopili, homes will be offered via lottery drawings.
